In the first quarter of the year, our guest house manager had a challenge with one of our long-stay patrons. The client left without notifying the manager and ignored all attempts at communication, suggesting a previous conflict.

A few months later, the manager heard the tragic news of the loss of the client’s sister. The sad news moved the manager and another team member, prompting them to travel to the other side of town to visit the family. There, they offered condolences and support. They spent time with the client, comforting her family and then offered prayers for the grieving family in their difficult time.

Bewildered, the client later sent an appreciation message, expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the kindness shown by the guest house.

Whether it’s in business or any other part of our lives, people value empathy. Every act of kindness highlights the essential nature of our interdependence.
