What’s Grow My Home?

Human existence will never be complete without some needs in place. One such need is housing.

Identifying this need and actively working to bridge a widening “homeless gap” in our societies has given birth to Grow My Home’s Affordable Housing Program. A few weeks ago, Mr Jonny launched the “Affordable Home Program” in Kenya. Before his visit, Mr Jonny had invested in free online courses to prepare the Kenyan attendees.

While in Kenya, Mr. Johnny met several people and connected with them on a deeper level. Many young people travelled from around the country to attend a training session to train people on business principles.

Mr Jonny offered two days of free business training on business operations, ethical management, and other life skills needed for growth and development.

In Mr. Jonny’s observation, some attendees were new to the business and couldn’t afford the course fees. However, he felt satisfied training people for free and imparting knowledge to help them start well and prepare for the business market in the future. Also, several young attendees could use the knowledge to augment their income, especially as they grapple with economic challenges.

He believes the sessions have gone a long way in reinforcing and broadening the scope and knowledge of business principles in today’s economy – especially for business owners and older participants. Pastors weren’t left out of this training. Some who attended were eager to learn about running a successful business.

Participants asked many questions about the GMH. Mr Jonny used the opportunity to explain the GMH’s vision to everyone. GMH aims to construct affordable housing to provide reasonably priced homes for individuals with limited income, unable to pay the full amount upfront. This initiative also aims to help middle to lower-class individuals learn about the real estate business.
